he programme is headlined by six days of face-to-face learning experiences and innovation challenges in Lausanne, from 15 to 20 November.
The scholarship for the Innovation in Action programme is only available to Olympians. The deadline for applications is 27 September.
IMD is partnering with the IOC and UEFA to bring you the Innovation in Action programme, which will explore fresh ways to reinvent the customer and fan experience in sport and entertainment. Two Olympians will be selected to receive a full scholarship, covering programme costs, travel and expenses while in Lausanne for this exciting and exclusive opportunity.
During the programme, you will put innovation and your entrepreneurial thinking into practice with a real-world innovation challenge; bolster your leadership skills; and apply what you have learnt to your own business with a concrete action plan. The programme consists of three modules, and runs between October 2021 and January 2022:
- Module 1 “Launch” (4 October to 8 November): six live virtual sessions, each lasting two hours, over the course of six weeks
- Module 2 “Design” (15 to 20 November): six days’ of face-to-face learning experiences and innovation challenges in Lausanne
- Module 3 “Transform” (22 November to 21 January): three live virtual coaching sessions, each lasting one hour, over the course of six weeks, focusing on transferring what you have learnt to your own context
Build innovation skills through hands-on experience
For the second module you will practise innovation and hone your entrepreneurship skills through a four-day immersive experience at IMD Campus in Lausanne. You will also spend one day each at Olympic House and UEFA Headquarters, and an evening at The Olympic Museum.
Over the course of these six days, you will have the invaluable opportunity to meet and be inspired by renowned keynote speakers from the entertainment industry and fellow athletes. You will be working on concrete, real-world challenges, including exploring innovative ways to increase fan engagement with women’s football.
Criteria for selection
You must be an Olympian with a good level of English and available to participate in all the programme modules, including the six days of face-to-face learning experience in Lausanne between 15 and 20 November 2021. You should also have some prior professional experience.
The scholarship is designed for individual entrepreneurs, managers and executives who want to learn the mindset and skills required to steer customer innovations from early concept development to validated breakthrough solutions. It will appeal to people from a wide range of industry sectors, operating both within and beyond the world of sports and entertainment.
